East Side residents fed up with violence after child shot at church event over the weekend
SAN ANTONIO โ Residents of District 2 say they are fed up with violence plaguing the streets on the East Side and are desperate for change after a child was shot at a church event Sunday at the Greater Faith Institutional Church. โThis violence is pitiful,โ said Germaine Carson, an East Side resident. โPeople donโt have anything to do but violence, which is why it continues to give this side of town a negative look. They just need to be heard.โWhite said violence such as Sundayโs shooting could have lasting effects. โSAPD officers are concerned and concerned that they are working off a checklist here in our district,โ Andrews-Sullivan said.

SAN ANTONIO โ A District 2 widow is calling for change within her community after her husband was gunned down outside of his home on May 31. Etoy McGarity said her husband, Charles Pryor, 48, had so many great qualities, including being a mentor to children on the East Side. I just wanted him to be there.โThat dark evening, Etoy McGarity said her husband had a bad feeling. โShe was screaming and crying, and I was trying to stay strong and to calm her down,โ Etoy McGarity said. Since the shooting, the family has moved, and Etoy McGarity said she struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder.
