SAN ANTONIO - Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan is keenly aware it is not going to be easy to keep up this season. No, DeRozan was not sure how he is going to keep pace on a fastbreak led by the returning Dejounte Murray. The Spurs are so confident in Murray, they agreed to a 4-year extension with the guard worth a reported $64 million. PACE OF PLAYThe Spurs averaged 111.7 points per game, 18th in the league, as a predominantly mid-range shooting team last season. Murray, White, Forbes and Walker will vie for minutes along with veterans DeRozan, Belinelli, Mills and newly signed DeMarre Carroll.

It was a weekend of ups and downs for Spurs guard Derrick White. White was officially named Saturday morning to the US Men's Basketball National Team roster that will compete in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Injury aside, White's ascension from US Select Team member to the national roster is one the highlights of the Spurs offseason. White is one of four Spurs players on World Cup rosters. Other Spurs players are Patty Mills (AUS), Chimezie Metu (NIG) and Marco Belinelli (ITA).
