Elton John calls out Vatican's "hypocrisy" for refusing to bless same-sex unions
Elton John criticized the Vatican after it decreed Monday that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions since God "cannot bless sin." The Vatican's orthodoxy office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, issued a formal response Monday to a question about whether Catholic clergy can bless same-sex unions. Since same-sex unions are not intended to be part of that plan, they cannot be blessed by the Church, the document said. According to Box Office Mojo, the films grossed more than $195 million worldwide and $253 million, respectively. Much of the money the Vatican reportedly poured into the investment fund came from donations from Catholic faithful.
