Bexar County is continuing its fight against domestic violence with the addition of more investigators to the Family Justice Center.

Kelly is hopeful her daughters death will inspire others to get out of what she describes as violent relationships. The Bexar County Family Justice Center has been helping victims of domestic violence since 2005, but COVID-19 has brought new challenges. Crystal Chandler, executive director of the Bexar County Family Justice Center, said the virus forced the organization to pivot. Chandler also noted there has been a 27% increase in calls to the center. The services at the Bexar County Family Justice Center are free, and the county has provided funds that will allow for additional staff to meet the demand.
