Week 10 of the high school volleyball season featured another impressive Smithson Valley outing, as the Rangers swept Clemens to remain undefeated in District 27-6A, while Brandeis knocked off Reagan in a 28-6A rematch and YWLA battled Fox Tech in 29-4A.

Inauguration of Vice President Kamala Harris offers hope to young people in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – Students at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy and the Fox Tech law magnet school watched as history was made with the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “Not only just as a person of color, but as a female, she’s changing the odds,” said Jordan Strait, a YWLA junior. Thomas Gomez, a sophomore at the Fox Tech Law Magnet School, agrees. At the law magnet school, students had their American flags at the ready after Lady Gaga’s powerful rendition of the National Anthem. Still seeing President Joe Biden and especially Vice President Harris take their oaths of office, were emotional moments.
SAISD addresses air conditioning issues plaguing campuses during first week of school
SAN ANTONIO - The superintendent of the San Antonio Independent School District held a press conference Wednesday to give an update on air conditioning issues at some of the district's campuses. Sam Houston, Burbank, Fox Tech and nearly 40 others have all had air conditioning outages this week. Air conditioning problems at Sam Houston and Burbank high schools were fixed Tuesday, but the outage persists at Fox Tech. Students from Fox Tech and the Advanced Learning Academy, which shares the Fox Tech campus, were bused to San Antonio College on Tuesday and Wednesday while crews performed repairs. They will also have class at SAC on Thursday but are expected to be back on the Fox Tech campus by Friday.
