San Antonio nurse honored with $1,500 worth of gifts
SAN ANTONIO โ Local business owner and craft expert Stephanie Pena Frost wanted to do something to give back to the San Antonio nurses fighting on the frontline against COVID-19, so she started reaching out to some friends. She create a contest through her social media accounts asking for people to nominate a deserving local nurse. Frost would select a winner and give them a gift basket filled with products from local business. She ended up with about 25 companies, donating about $1500 worth of gifts. There were many deserving nominations but one really stuck out.

Her healthcare team organized a surprise drive-by birthday parade that caught McBride completely off-guard. โI wanted to bring a little joy to Mary on her birthday,โ said Bianca Rodriguez, BAMC breast nurse navigator, in a statement. โWhen you are a cancer survivor, celebrating life events, such as a birthday, is huge. Crocs donating its shoes to healthcare workers
Go into most US emergency rooms, and you'll find staff wear Crocs. Now their manufacturer has announced a program to donate 10,000 a day to healthcare workers fighting against the novel coronavirus. Crocs said it is delivering some shipments straight to hospitals and other facilities, but that it is allowing workers to sign up for the free shoes by going to www.crocs.com/freeforhealthcare. It said it will continue to donate the shoes as long as supplies last. โThese workers have our deepest respect, and we are humbled to be able to answer their call and provide whatever we can to help during this unprecedented time.โ
