To help cope with the stress of the pandemic, an elementary school teacher has created a hotline for people to call in and scream, according to CNN. Launched just before Election Day, “Just Scream!” is a hotline in which people can dial and scream as loud as they want, for as long as they want, before hanging up. Scream into the Icelandic abyss -- no, for real“I wanted to find a prompt that people would respond to, and screaming seemed to be a good fit,” creator Chris Gollmar told CNN. The site is undergoing some modifications, but people can start calling it again starting Feb. 1.

SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary’s University School of Law has launched a hotline for South Texas residents who are experiencing housing issues due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. “It’s really uncharted territory for people and something where they do need legal assistance," Fajardo said. “People aren’t even aware that there’s rental assistance available in both the city of San Antonio and in Bexar County to help them get caught back up on their rent. “Maybe one-third to a half of San Antonio properties are still under the moratorium, where they cannot be removed or evicted from their property," she said. The university said legal representatives will be able to share resource information about payment assistance and forms renters can fill out to represent themselves during eviction proceedings.

Just because every local library branch is closed, that doesn’t mean you can’t access the resources of the San Antonio Public Library. Library staff members are still working, and all of the system’s digital resources are available 24/7 at www.mysapl.org/digital. Other staff members are now working in a different city departments and helping San Antonio Metro Health answer calls on the city’s COVID-19 hotlines. According to the city, the hotline is receiving hundreds of calls a day, and Metro Health officials say they appreciate the help. The disease first appeared in late 2019 in Wuhan, China, but spread around the world in early 2020, causing the World Health Organization to declare a pandemic in March.
