'Your Land'? Some Native Americans question inaugural song
Some tribal members complained about the mishmash of songs sung by Lopez that included lyrics from This Land is your Land. (Erin Schaff/The New York Times via AP, Pool, File)FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. โ On the first day of Joe Biden's presidency, Native Americans had reason to celebrate. Inaugural events showcased tribes across the country in traditional regalia, dancing and in prayer. And then there was the mishmash of songs sung by Jennifer Lopez that included lyrics from โThis Land is Your Land." โIn order to make it work, โthis land is your land, this land is my land,' people (need) to understand it doesnโt belong to us,โ said Tebo, who also is Winnebago.

For a splintered nation, a delicate moment of continuity
When it gazes into the mirror, the United States does not generally see a land of process and procedure. The bold, splashy storylines that Americans crave, and have used to construct their nation, don't always play well with repetition and routine. That's where process, procedure and ritual come in. And that for every deafening moment that lurches the nation forward, there are countless procedural ones that inch it along. For one moment, whatever kind of American you are, whatever youโre upset about and however you voted, this land was incontrovertibly your land.

Another inauguration fashion star on Twitter was Nikolas Ajagu, the husband of Harris' niece, Meena Harris. It was updated on January 21, 2021, to correct the fact that Meena Harris is Vice President Kamala Harrisโ niece, not her sister.
Hollywood on the Potomac: A-list turns out for Biden-Harris
While stars mostly eschewed Trump's inauguration four years ago, the A-list was back for Biden. Brooks was careful to call his decision to perform on Wednesday non-political, and in the spirit of unity. He had performed during the inaugural celebration for Obama in 2009, but turned down a chance to perform for Trump in 2017, citing a scheduling conflict. Alone with his guitar, The Boss sang his โLand of Hope and Dreamsโ in front of the Lincoln Memorial. The celebrity component only increased over time, and one of the starriest inaugurations was that of John F. Kennedy in 1961.

INAUGURATION EXPLAINER: Bidenโs event will be very different
The outgoing president traditionally attends the inauguration to symbolize the peaceful transfer of power. And there will be no inaugural balls for Biden, Harris and their spouses to dance the night away. But in the wake of the violent Jan. 6 mob attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters, all semblance of normality might be gone. Biden, first lady Jill Biden, Harris and second gentlemen Douglas Emhoff will later visit Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The inauguration comes just two weeks after the insurrection at the Capitol by Trump supporters as Congress was confirming Biden's victory.

Short-video app Quibi shutting down just months after launch
Short-video app Quibi is shutting down just six months after its early April launch after struggling to find customers. But the service struggled to reach viewers, despite a 90-day free trial, as short videos abound on the internet and the coronavirus pandemic kept many people at home. Part of the appeal of the service, which started at $5 a month, was supposed to be that you could watch short videos while out, without access to a TV. Being stuck at home made TV more desirable than watching on a phone, and Quibi only later and slowly rolled out TV options. Mobile research firm Sensor Tower estimates 9.6 million installations of Quibiโs mobile app since its launch; that doesn't mean those are actually users.
