SAN ANTONIO UTSA football was scheduled to open the 2020 college football season at defending national champion LSU, but that game is now off. Today, the Southeastern Conference moved to a 10-game conference-only football schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Roadrunners, who play in Conference USA, were slated to make $1.4 million for opening the season at LSU on Sept. 5 in Baton Rouge, La. Losing that kind of money is a tough blow for UTSA and the entire athletic program. UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos released a statement addressing the scheduling changes on Thursday evening, Earlier today, we became aware of the SECs decision to implement a conference-only football schedule for its member schools this season.

The move includes a 33% reduction in the minimum number of games needed for sponsorship and championship qualification in most sports. Under the plan, D-II schools must play at least five football games to maintain NCAA sponsorship and at least seven games to be eligible for playoff consideration.

Naquin, of Fair Oaks Ranch, was arrested on hazing charges in Oct. 2017 for making pledges drink alcohol while playing a game called “Bible Study,” according to an affidavit. Three LSU students were among those killed in a helicopter crash in the Bahamas in July 2019. - Phi Mu sorority of LSU announced via social media, the death of three sorority sisters. Also killed in the crash was his daughter, Kameron Cline, a student at LSU in Baton Rouge, and a member of Phi Mu sorority. Police say the helicopter took off from Big Grand Cay, Bahamas, around 2 A.M. Thursday. Police officers and residents of Grand Cay discovered the aircraft overturned in 16 feet of water about two miles off Grand Cay in the Abacos.
