World’s smallest Target store in Marathon, Texas, has been demolished
MARATHON, Texas – RIP Target Marathon. It’s referred to as the world’s smallest Target and it stands off US Highway 90 outside Marathon, Texas, in remote Brewster County. In fact, it’s not actually a Target store, but a former railroad structure with the store’s logo painted on it. The nearest real Target stores are a couple of hours away in Odessa and Midland. Texas reports more than 15,000 new COVID-19 cases, smashing previous single-day record
Texas reported more than 15,000 new cases Tuesday, smashing the previous single-day record. The county borders Ojinagao, Mexico, and the only hospital in rural Alpine has just enough beds to treat only a handful of COVID-19 patients. Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara said that one in 13 people in the West Texas county have contracted COVID-19. On Monday, Guevara urged residents to shelter in place and avoid nonessential travel given the “alarming" hike in cases. She said no virus patients had died at the hospital within the last two weeks.
