Schertz City Council has set a special election for next month to fill the vacant Place 7 council seat following the death of former councilmember Tim Brown last month.

Brown was elected to Place 7 in 2018, the city stated in a news release, and helped “guide the city through years of growth and progress.

Homeowners are collecting signatures against a developer's plans to build rental housing near their homes. Concerns raised by residents include increased traffic on Savannah Drive and potential problems for existing residents.

Less than an hour after KSAT started making calls about the allegations, the City of Schertz said HABI Land LLC pulled its zoning application.
