Head-on crash sends 2 drivers to hospital

BCSO: Not sure if alcohol played factor in accident

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is investigating a head-on collision on the city's far West Side.

The accident was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Potranco Road and Country Meadow Drive, near the Sundance Trail subdivision.

Deputies said the two vehicles were driving in opposite directions when one of the vehicles veered into the other lane, causing the cars to collide.

One of the drivers was transported by AirLife to University Hospital critical condition. The other driver was also taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Deputies said they are not sure if alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Potranco Road was closed early Friday morning as a result of the accident. The road reopened around 5:15 a.m. 

The investigation is ongoing.
