Fredericksburg's Peach Season Takes Severe Hit
Texas Hill Country is known for its peaches — but this year, one bad freeze changed everything. Warm temps in February tricked peach trees into waking up early, and then a March freeze hit Jenschke Orchards in Fredericksburg with temperatures below 23 degrees, wiping out nearly 90% of the crop. If you were looking forward to a "you-pick" peach experience this summer, you're out of luck — the orchard had to eliminate it entirely. Owner Lindsay Jenschke says the hardest part isn't the financial hit, it's letting down the customers who travel just for a taste of a Fredericksburg peach. So if you manage to get your hands on one this season… don't take it for granted. 🍑 #FredericksburgPeaches #TexasHillCountry #PeachSeason #FarmLife #OnlyInTexas
