SAN ANTONIO ā Grocery stores on Thursday were packed with people buying provisions just in case they have to hunker down this weekend because of Hurricane Harvey.
Shoppers were buying water by the cartloads.
H-E-B had plenty of water on store shelves. A spokeswoman said the company is keeping close tabs on stores near the coast.
"But also sending down truckloads of extra products, specifically extra water, so our customers feel they're prepared," she said.
Rocky Alvero was hauling water to his place near Corpus Christi.
"I'm going to ride out the storm," he said.
Savannah Moreno said she was expecting family members who are evacuating from Corpus Christi.
"For the most part, they've been boarding up the houses, sandbags," she said. "They're preparing as much as they can for this nasty thing that's coming."
