SAN ANTONIO – Residents of Corpus Christi should boil their water before drinking it, using it to wash their hands and face or brushing their teeth, the city announced.
They said children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, but that all people should boil their water.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking or human consumption.
The city said they will notify customers when the water is safe to drink.
Customers with questions may call 361-826-1208. The City of Corpus Christi is issuing this Boil Water Notice as a precautionary measure as they work to restore conditions post hurricane.
