If you shun the sun, suffer from food allergies, and donโt get enough fruit and veggies, itโs likely you may be vitamin deficient. In fact, 46 percent of United States adults arenโt getting enough vitamin C. According to The Cleveland Clinic, 42 percent of people are vitamin D deficient, and 90 percent are not getting enough vitamin E. Getting too little of these essential vitamins can be dangerous, even life-threatening.
You can fight drowsiness after daylight saving time

When weโre not commuting to work in the morning, weโre also exposed to less light and our bodies need daylight to help regulate our internal clock. Daylight saving time adds to the sleep deprivation weโre already experiencing. Pena said exposure to sunlight will help fight off tired feelings, so get outside if you can. That will help people to feel rejuvenated and feel better during those episodes where they feel a little bit drowsy or sluggish,โ Pena said.
Eating a rainbow of colorful food is beneficial for the immune system
We all want a healthy immune system to help fight off infection, especially during a pandemic. The Cleveland Clinicโs Kristin Kirkpatrick says regularly eating a rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables is a good place to start. Vitamin D also supports immune health, but the body doesnโt absorb it well from food, so youโll want to consider a supplemental form, like D-3. Kirkpatrick recommends switching to a whole foods diet, which is primarily plant based, to keep your immune system strong. She says regular exercise and good sleep habits will also help immune health.
Federal government updates dietary guidelines
This past December, the federal government updated its dietary guidelines, which will be the standard for the next five years. Cleveland Clinic registered dietician Kristin Kirkpatrick said the guidelines can help all of us make the right choices. Theyโre also meant to give just some general guidance to Americans on what we should look at with our diet,โ Kirkpatrick said. And finally, men should have no more than two alcoholic beverages per day, while women should only have one. She also recommends a whole foods diet consisting primarily of plants, with some animal protein added in.
Trump frees former aides from ethics pledge, lobbying ban

Trumpโs order authorized the attorney general to investigate any breaches of the ethics pledge and to pursue civil suits if necessary. Trump signed the one-page revocation of the order on Tuesday, and it was released by the White House shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, hours before his term ends.
NBC faces backlash after agreeing to Trump town hall
During an interview with Biden's running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, Maddow asked whether she was โas mad as everybody elseโ about the Trump town hall. NBC said it agreed to set up the dueling town hall after Trump was administered a coronavirus test Tuesday by the National Institutes of Health. Trump's town hall on NBC is scheduled for an hour. An estimated 6.7 million people saw Biden at an NBC News-sponsored town hall last week. Trump's ABC town hall with Stephanopoulos on Sept. 15 was seen by 3.8 million people, Nielsen said.

Next Trump-Biden debates uncertain, though Oct. 22 is likely
Biden's campaign then suggested the event be delayed a week until Oct. 22, which is when the third and final debate was already scheduled. Next, Trump countered again, agreeing to a debate on Oct. 22 โ but only if face to face โ and asking that a third contest be added on Oct. 29, just before the election. The Oct. 22 debate in Nashville, Tennessee, is scheduled to feature a format similar to the first. Bidenโs campaign has suggested that it be modified to the โtown meetingโ format, though the Trump campaign has not weighed in. As he campaigned in Arizona, Biden said he would indeed attend the Oct. 22 debate.
Trump's whirlwind week, disdain for masks, ended with COVID

Trumpโs campaign manager, Bill Stepien, who attended the debate and helped him prepare with Christie, has tested positive for COVID-19. White House officials said they began learning of Hicksโ positive test after Trump boarded Marine One to start his journey to New Jersey. Despite the abject failure to keep the president protected from the virus, White House officials defended their current protocols as well thought out. And masks still won't be required on the White House grounds for all West Wing employees.
2nd presidential debate host withdraws amid virus outbreak
WASHINGTON The University of Notre Dame has become the second university to withdraw as the host of one of this fall's three scheduled presidential debates amid the coronavirus pandemic. The university was set to host the inaugural face-off between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden on Sept. 29. The first debate will now be hosted by Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates announced Monday. The commission has selected Cleveland Clinic as its health adviser for all three presidential debates and the one scheduled vice presidential debate. John Jenkins said the university made this difficult decision because the necessary health precautions would have greatly diminished the educational value of hosting the debate on our campus.The University of Michigan was scheduled to host the second presidential debate but withdrew last month.
