SAN ANTONIO – Thousands of people gathered in San Antonio on Monday for the first in-person MLK March in three years.

The march started at 10 a.m. on Monday at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy at 3501 Martin Luther King Dr.

The route then headed west on Martin Luther King Drive to Pittman-Sullivan Park.

The San Antonio MLK March is considered to be one of the largest — if not the largest — in the nation. This year’s theme was “Together We Can Be The Dream.”

San Antonio leaders like SAPD Chief William McManus and Mayor Ron Nirenberg were among the marchers for 2023′s event. Hines Ward, the former Pittsburgh Steelers star and current head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas, and families of Uvalde victims also participated in Monday’s march.
