SAN ANTONIO – Councilman Cris Medina and a local band are hoping to turn San Antonio into the next world-renowned music city.

Trying to join the ranks of Nashville and Austin the city would need to add more music venues and build on events like First Friday, Fiesta and the San Antonio Rodeo.

Medina is hopeful the city will support a live music and entertainment district.

“I wanted for San Antonian’s to recognize that there's a lot of creativity that we have in this city, and I want us to embrace it and also see the economic benefit to it as well," Medina said.

Medina’s resolution goes before the city’s governance committee sometime in March.
