Texas Cavaliers announce 2017 Fiesta River Parade honorary grand marshal

Maj. Gen. Pat Brady to serve as grand marshal

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Cavaliers announced this year's Fiesta River Parade honorary grand marshal on Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Pat Brady, one of the nation's most decorated military heroes, will serve as the grand marshal for this year’s kaleidoscope-themed parade. He is the only living Army Vietnam veteran to hold both the Medal of Honor and the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation’s second-highest award.

“I think the essence of everything they do here is focused on young people, on educating people,” Brady said. “I think the most important thing for people to know is to be educated and the importance of being a patriot.”

The Texas Cavaliers is a men’s-only organization of 600 members that has supported San Antonio charities and raised money through its foundation since 1989. For more information, visit its website.
