SAN ANTONIO – The Tejano community will posthumously honor Grupo Mazz frontman Jimmy Gonzalez and Tejano singer-songwriter Emilio Navaira at the annual Tejano Music Awards in November, according to a news release.
Gonzales, who died from complications from diabetes earlier this year, and Navaira will both be honored with the Lifetime Achievement. Both will be recognized for their "roles as Tejano music trendsetters," a news release said.
The Nov. 17 awards show, which will be held at the San Antonio Event Center, will also feature a tribute to Gonzalez.
Tickets to the awards show start at $35 and can be purchased online.
