SAN MARCOS – Located right on the square on South LBJ Dr., Aquabrew is changing the game in San Marcos.
Most places in the square situated near Texas State University cater to the college crowd, but AquaBrew is a place for everyone.
"We wanted to raise the bar in hospitality here in San Marcos," Aquabrew chef Joseph Feldmann said. "There's good food everywhere, but we just thought it could be a little better."
The place opened a little over a year ago, and has since added a beer garden and rooftop area. On any given night, the place can see up to 600 people.
"Being right on the square, we've been accepted and (are) pretty busy," Feldmann said.
The brewery inside features anywhere from nine to 11 craft beers, and the beers are made to compliment the menu.
The menu showcases many gourmet food items all made from locally sourced ingredients.
The stars on the menu include the burger, fish tacos and the bacon jam fries.
"The flavors really speak for themselves," Feldmann said. "We keep it simple and we just do our thing."
Open seven days a week, AquaBrew should be on your agenda on your next visit to San Marcos, and don't forget to order the bacon jam fries. You won't regret it.
