SAN ANTONIO – Valentine's Day often means sweets from your sweetie. Counting calories isn't very romantic, but Consumer Reports took a look at just how much you can eat and stay under 100 calories.
If you adore conversation hearts, you can have 30 of them. That amount adds up to 100 calories.
You can have 57 Brachs Cinnamon Imperial Hearts, or 18 SweetTart hearts.
As for the chocolates, you'll have to pace yourself.
Three Dark Chocolate Hearts from Dove hits the 100 calorie mark, while two pieces of Godiva Valentine's Day Message Truffles does the trick. Just one piece of boxed chocolate like Whitman's Assorted or Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates is about 100 calories.
But here's something love.
"It's OK to have a treat now and then," said Consumer Reports nutritionist Maxine Siegel. "It can actually help you stick to a healthy eating pattern because you don't feel so deprived."
