SAN ANTONIO – Associates at a medical office in North San Antonio said they are devastated after hearing that their doctor was killed in a wreck.

Robert Nett, 57, died in a crash Thursday afternoon on Loop 1604 near Blanco Road.

Dr. Robert Nett worked at Texas Headache Associates on Stone Oak Parkway with his daughter, Erika and with Kathy Watts.

Watts said she worked with Dr. Nett for about 20 years and that he treated his patients like family.

He not only treated their headaches," she said. "He counseled them. He played therapist, he played best friend and spiritual guide and he did that for all of us, he was a very special man."

Nett was killed in a crash on Loop 1604 when his vehicle suddenly went off to the right, crossed a median and slammed into the back of an a Fedex truck.

According to the police report, there was no indication that he tried to stop.

"The police were very convinced that it was something medical, a medical event that caused him to veer into the other lanes," she said.

Watts said Nett, his wife and two children were very close and that this has been devastating for everyone.

"He touched the lives of so many people and changed the lives of so many people through his practice and through his personal life," Watts said. "He was just an incredible man."

"The family of Nett appreciates the many prayers and condolences on behalf of their beloved husband and father who was tragically killed in a car accident Thursday afternoon."
