SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say one man is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting occurred outside the Security Service building on the Highway 90 access road on the city's West side.
San Antonio police Chief William McManus said witnesses told investigators a dark SUV pulled up alongside a man driving a blue pickup truck in the 7900 block of Highway 90.
McManus said said two men inside the SUV opened fire on the pickup, killing its driver instantly.
The man has not been identified, but McManus said he was Hispanic and in his 40s.
McManus said the pickup's driver drifted off the access road onto the highway, where he crashed into a guardrail and stopped about a quarter-mile down the road.
McManus said the shooting was not random, but that the pickup's driver was likely targeted.
He said security footage from the Security Service building is being reviewed by investigators.
"We do have video that shows the shooting, so if you are a suspect in this case, and you're out there hearing this, do everyone a favor and turn yourself in before we come and get you, because we're going to come and get you because we got you on video," he said.
