East Side motel owner found dead Owner of Super 8 suffered gunshot wound to stomach; police suspect suicide No description found
San Antonio police said it appears the death of a motel owner whose body was found early Monday morning was an apparent suicide.
Investigators say the man's body was found behind two tree removal trucks just after midnight.
The man was shot once in the stomach area and later identified as the owner of the Super 8 Motel on South WW White Road. His name has not been released.
The man's family told investigators he left to make nightly rounds at the motel around 9 p.m. Sunday.
When he hadn't returned several hours later, the man's daughter was concerned at called police to report him missing.
Police found his body a short time later and located a gun on the ground nearby.
