Suspected DWI driver slams into apartment

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a suspected drunk driver crashed into a North Side apartment building Tuesday evening and fled the scene.

Police said the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Silver Springs Apartments near Vance Jackson and Nassau.

Witnesses told officers the driver of a pickup truck peeled out and lost control as he was turning on Vance Jackson.

Police said he then hit the corner of the apartment building and caused a fair amount of damage.

Witnesses said the climbed out the window of his truck and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
