Javier Gerardo Guerrero, 23, was charged with exploitation of the elderly. According to an arrest affidavit, Guerrero stole and and forged checks from a 97-year-old man he provided care for.
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested 23-year-old Javier Gerardo Guerrero after they say he stole and forged checks from a 97-year-old man.
An arrest affidavit stated Guerrero worked as a caregiver to the elderly man in August.
Police said Guerrero forged his name on three of the checks and then got other to cash them on his behalf.
The affidavit stated the checks totaled close to $1,500. The victim's son noticed the missing money in his father's account and notified San Antonio police.
Guerrero has been charged with exploitation of the elderly.
