SAN ANTONIO – Former San Antonio City Councilman Frank Wing, who served on city council from 1977 to 1993, died Tuesday at Southwest General Hospital at the age of 75.
Wing underwent bypass surgery after suffering a massive heart attack late last week, but suffered a setback.

Bexar County Judge and former San Antonio Mayor Nelson Wolff confirmed Wing's passing to KSAT-12 News.
Wing was born on the South Side of San Antonio on Sept. 27, 1937. Wing enlisted in the Air Force and worked at Kelly AFB for more than 20 years before going on to represent District 4 on the South Side for the next 16 years.
Wing was also former Mayor Henry Cisneros' childhood friend, and went on to become his right hand man on the city council.
Frank Wing leaves behind a wife, five children, a stepdaughter, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
