Family and friends of a coach who died last week gathered Saturday at the Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels for a memorial service.
There was standing room only inside the church during the memorial service for coach John Mudge.
Mudge, who was a coach and teacher at New Braunfels High School, passed away last Friday.
He was 33 years old.
On Saturday, dozens of people spoke about the impact he had on their lives, including his wife, Marsha Mudge.
"This moment, you are my hero," she said. "You have been my inspiration for years. We'll miss you more than you'll ever know."
Mudge played college football at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
Some of his colleagues made the trip for his service and were moved by the outpouring of support from the community.
"It says a lot about his character, about who he is as a coach," said Moses Cantu, a friend and former teammate. "He's a great guy. The parking lot is full. We had to park a good distance away. (That is a) testimony to who he was, to his family, his wife and his children."
Mudge leaves behind his wife, Marsha, and two young sons, Tanner, 4, and Jackson, 2.
