A wrong-way driver died early Tuesday morning when he slammed into another vehicle head-on near downtown, San Antonio police said.
The driver was identified as 31-year-old Randy Dwain Fuselier Jr.
Paramedics and police responded to the crash just before 2 a.m. in the 4500 block of Interstate 35 South.
Police said Fuselier Jr. was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-35 North at Binz-Engleman Road when he hit a Buick Regal head on. Fuselier Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters responded to cut the other driver out of his vehicle. The other driver was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center with multiple fractures and is in stable condition.
Police have not said what factors played a part in the crash.
