Church's Fried Chicken on Goliad Road damaged by fire

SAN ANTONIO – A Church's Fried Chicken was damaged by fire early Saturday on the city's Southeast Side.

Fire officials said there was heavy smoke in the eatery when firefighters arrived at 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Goliad.

It appears a fryer was left on when the restaurant was closed for the night.

Firefighters took about 25 minutes to put out the fire.

No injuries were reported.
