Cafeteria cook charged with theft from Pre-K 4 SA program

Angel Meneses, 26, arrested, additional suspect sought

SAN ANTONIO – A cafeteria cook who worked for the city of San Antonio's Pre-K 4 SA program is accused of stealing a musical instrument from a classroom at the southern location, in the 7000 block of S. New Braunfels Avenue.

San Antonio police said a school police officer notified them of the theft, which was caught on a school surveillance camera on June 6, the affidavit stated.

Police said Angel Meneses, 26, is seen driving his car toward the back of the school building and leaving his trunk open, the affidavit stated.

Another cook then placed a colorful drum from a music classroom into Meneses' trunk, the affidavit stated. Police believe Meneses knew about the theft.

The affidavit stated that the co-worked not only helped him steal it, but had stolen another drum, himself, a few weeks prior to that.

Meneses was booked into jail Thursday on a charge of theft. As of Friday morning, the co-worker, whose name was redacted from the affidavit, had not been arrested yet.
