SAN ANTONIO – A KSAT viewer recently shared a story about her friend who offered a job to a homeless man on the side of the road.
Her friend, Cody Thetford, saw a homeless man holding a sign earlier this week and decided to roll down his window and give the man a chance to turn his life around.

That man, Dustin Ebard, was stranded and struggling Thursday when Thetford offered to help.
"(I was) trying to find a job and it was hard. A lot of people didn't want to hire anyone without an address," said Ebard.
He said he made a sign as a last resort, seeing if anyone would help.
"After a series of questions, I could tell he was struggling, he needed it and we all need money, and if the man is willing to work for it, I'll give him a chance," said Thetford.
Thetford said Ebard got right in his truck and he put him right to work at his business, Cody Renovations.
Ebarb, who has high hopes for the future, said the opportunity will help him get his life back on track.
"My goal is to go to Houston next year, try out for 'American Idol,'" he said.
