SAPD: Teen arrested in fatal shooting

Victim shot, killed in 300 block of Micklejohn near Woodlawn Lake

SAN ANTONIO – A 17-year-old died after a shooting late Wednesday night on San Antonio's near Northwest Side.

The shooting was reported around 11:45 p.m. in front of the victim's home in the 300 block of Micklejohn, near Woodlawn Lake.

Within hours, police arrested 18-year-old Jose Castellans-Aguilera (pictured) in connection with the slaying.

"I hope he pays for what he did, because he took something from us that we're never gonna get back," said Amy Perez, who identified the victim as her brother, 17-year-old Fanuel Arita.

"The victim and the suspect have known each other for a long time, and we're being told they've had an ongoing feud, and unfortunately this feud boiled over last night," said Officer Doug Greene, with the San Antonio Police Department.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark sedan flee the scene.

About two hours later, police found the suspect's vehicle on the South Side on Villaret.

They questioned three men and tested them for gunpoweder residue.

Investigators then narrowed it down to one teen.

"I'm in shock still. I didn't believe it. I went to sleep last night thinking it was a bad dream, and woke up and it was reality. He's not here no more," said Perez.

She said her brother came to San Antonio from Honduras in hopes of a better life, and he'd been working as a painter and a construction worker.

She said he had planned to return to Honduras, where his mother still lived, in about three months.
