SAN ANTONIO – TxDOT hosted a public meeting Thursday night for San Antonians to review proposed plans for interchange improvements along Loop 410 at SH 151 and US 90.
The meeting began at 5 p.m. and lasted about two hours at the Northside Activity Center on Culebra Road.
According to TxDOT officials, the Loop 410 interchange improvement projects include the construction of a fully directional interchange at U.S. 90, and a fully directional interchange at SH 151.
"What we have at US 90 is a cloverleaf, which is something we have in other areas around town. We are looking to put direct-connect ramps at 90 and 151," said Laura Lopez, with TxDOT.
The plans also involve operational improvements along Loop 410 from north of Culebra Road to Valley Hi Drive and SH 151 that will involve relocating existing entrance and exit ramps, along with the addition of various auxiliary lanes to accommodate the direct connect interchange.
In addition, TxDOT plans to add an extra lane in each direction to Loop 410 from SH 151 to Ingram Road. That would make Loop 410 an eight-lane expressway.
The public was given the opportunity Thursday night to look at the proposed concept design and provide feedback on these improvements.
There is not time line for the project because funding is currently not available.
