SAN ANTONIO – A suspect identified as Mark Poole, 44, has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a West Side pizza restaurant and his nose may be to blame.
An arrest affidavit stated that two employees of a Pizza Hut in the 1800 block of S. General McMullen told investigators that the man who robbed them at gunpoint had a pointed nose.
The affidavit stated that the robber took money from the cash register on the night of Nov. 13, and ordered one of the workers to open the safe or he would hurt her and everyone else.
When the worker was unable to open the safe, the robber took the money from the register and ran away, the affidavit stated.
At one point during the robbery, one woman tried to escape but the robber stopped her and took her cell phone, the affidavit stated.
Police said they described the man who held them at gunpoint as having a "pointed nose, blue eyes and stubble hair on his face."
According to the affidavit, detectives received a call from an officer about a week after the robbery who remembered having contact with Poole a few weeks prior.
They said he told them to talk to a woman who is Poole's ex-girlfriend. Detectives said the woman told them that Poole had been robbing people lately, the affidavit stated.
They arrested Poole Monday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
