Father arrested for taking toddler during dispute

Savon Robinson, 21, charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault

SAN ANTONIO – Five days after he was suspected of taking his 2-year-old daughter from her grandmother's home, Savon Robinson was arrested.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office had been looking for Robinson since Saturday evening.

He allegedly went to the home and got into a fight with the boyfriend of the child's mother.

Investigators said Robinson's mother, Sandra, grabbed a baseball bat and hit the man.

Savon Robinson took the child and left. While he has parental rights, a BCSO spokesman said it was the way Robinson took the child that was a problem.

Sandra Robinson was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The child was returned to her grandmother's home. She was not hurt.
