BCSO: 2 arrested attempting to flush meth down toilet

Two men arrested; Guns, drugs confiscated

SAN ANTONIO – Two men were arrested Friday as they attempted to flush several pounds of methamphetamine down a toilet, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said.

The arrests were made when members of the BCSO Narcotic Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Freeman Street.

Ruben Bustos and Alvaro Ayala were both taken into custody without incident.

The drugs recovered have a street value of about $500,000. Along with the drugs, the Sheriff's Office recovered several weapons, including an AK-47.

A Mercedes Benz and a Cadillac were also seized, as well as $2,500 in cash and about $50,000 in other items.

The Sheriff's Office said Ayala and Bustos used the fully furnished home to conceal their drug activities from their families. Neither man lived at the home.

Both men were taken into federal custody and the Sheriff's Office says more arrests are expected.
