SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police took several people into custody for questioning in the 400 block of Bradley in connection to a deadly overnight shooting.
A 19-year-old man was killed early Monday morning in what police said was an apparent botched drug deal on the Northeast Side.
The victim was identified as Marcus Cisneros-Lopez.
According to a preliminary SAPD report, Cisneros-Lopez met with a man near a Whataburger at O'Connor and Nacogdoches.
Officers at the scene believe the two were meeting for a prearranged drug deal.
Cisneros-Lopez pulled up to the location with his girlfriend before 1 a.m.
The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded their belongings.
Cisneros-Lopez' girlfriend attempted to drive away, but the suspect fired several rounds at her vehicle, hitting Cisneros-Lopez, the report stated.
The girlfriend drove him to the 5300 block of Rambowllette Drive, about a half-mile away, police said.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to revive Cisneros-Lopez, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
SAPD investigators believe the shooting victim was selling marijuana.
"It is really surprising. I've know him since I was like 9, so it comes as a shock. We were out here this morning," said Jessica Glass, who lived near Cisneros-Lopez. "My condolences obviously. You never want to lose someone. I think he was a year older than me. I can't imagine them losing someone like that."
Several other neighbors said they weren't surprised by the news, because there had been problems at the home where Cisneros-Lopez lived. Police records confirm officers were called to the home nearly 10 times in the last two years.
