Bexar County jail guard arrested for drug possession

SAPD makes arrest after traffic stop

SAN ANTONIO – A Bexar County detention officer is on the wrong side of the law after a drug arrest.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirms officers with the San Antonio Police Department arrested jail guard Erich Steven Arredondo after a traffic stop Friday.

A check of county magistrate records shows 34-year-old Arredondo is charged with possession of marijuana, zero to two ounces.

A sheriff's representative said Arredondo has been placed on paid administrative leave for at least 10 days pending the outcome of a county internal affairs investigation.
