SAPD chief appoints new deputy chief
Capt. Joery Smittick is 33-year SAPD vet
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police Department Chief Anthony Trevino appointed a new deputy chief Friday.
Capt. Joery Smittick was appointed to the position and has been with the department for 33 years.
Smittick has experience working as an evidence detective, a homicide detective and a night criminal investigations detective.
He has also served as a patrol officer and field training officer.
The new deputy chief will be assigned to the Major Crimes and Intelligence Division.
