Wanted fugitive with ties to South Texas sought by DPS

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help as it tries to track down one of Texas' top 10 most wanted fugitives.

James Lee Matley, 40, is a member of the Texas Chicano Brotherhood gang, DPS officials said.

DPS officials said he has a violent criminal history that includes burglary, assault, and deadly conduct.

Matley has ties to El Paso, Victoria, Edna, and other areas in South Texas and has been known to work in the metalwork, oilfield and construction industries.

Matley is 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 240 pounds and may be known as "Rooster" or "Trigger." He has the name "Naomi" tattooed on the left side of his neck, and various other tattoos on his left cheek, chest, back, arms, abdomen, left hand, left wrist and fingers.

DPS is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for tips that lead to his arrest.
