SAN ANTONIO – Severe storms with heavy rain, strong winds and lightning moved through the San Antonio area early Friday morning.
The storms rolled into San Antonio around 12:30 a.m. from the Texas Hill Country and prompted more flood warnings and watches across Bexar and surrounding counties.
Between 1 to 2 inches of rain was expected to fall with isolated amounts of 3 inches possible.
The severe weather also knocked out power to thousands in the area. At the height of the storm, CPS Energy reported more than 100 outages affecting 7,300 customers.

Tree damage with winds over 70 mph were reported in San Antonio.

A majority of the warning and watches expired during the overnight hours, but a flash flood watch remained in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for South Texas due to the moist conditions of the grounds.
Because of the flooding, Blanco ISD classes will start at 10 a.m. Friday and Comal ISD will start 2 hours later than normal Friday.
KSAT Weather Authority Meteorologist Justin Horne says the rest of Friday is expected to be partly cloudy and a high of around 87.
Showers and storms will be back in the forecast Saturday and Sunday. Chances for rain both days will be between 40 to 50 percent with highs in the mid 80s.
