Man arrested in stolen property bust

James Cross, 38, sold stolen products online, at Eisenhauer Road Flea Market

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man is facing felony charges following a two-month investigation into a fencing scheme.

Police have charged 38-year-old James Cross, who officers believe is the leader of the scheme, with posession of stolen property, $1,500-$20,000.

Officers searched his home on Dove Mountain on the city's Northeast Side and found about $250,000 in stolen property.

Officers also searched the nearby Eisenhauer Road Flea Market and found another $300,000 in stolen property connected to Cross.

"He would have thieves throughout the city steal property and he would pay these thieves to bring the property back to his location and from there he would distribute it out by selling that property online or through meeting up with different people and selling the property and profit that way," San Antonio police spokesman Officer Doug Greene said.

The San Antonio Police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff's Office worked together on this investigation and both say more arrests are expected.

Cross could also be facing more charges as the investigation continues.
