The Associated Press has released its first set of NFL Power Rankings for the upcoming season and the Cowboys are predicted to contend for the NFC title.

Dallas is ranked sixth overall and third in the NFC behind the Green Bay Packers (1st overall) and Seattle Seahawks (2nd overall).

The defending Super Bowl champions Patriots are ranked 3rd overall. The Colts and Broncos round out the top five.

The Cowboys are the highest ranked team in the NFC East with Philadelphia ranked 11th, the Giants ranked 22nd and Washington ranked 28th.

Aside from the divisional games, the Cowboys will play the top 3 teams on the list this season. Other key conference games will be against Carolina (14) and New Orleans (22).
