Arrest made in Christmas Day murder

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested William Boyd Porter on Thursday in connection with the murder of Trayvouns Tramone Edwards.  

Edwards was shot and killed at a Citgo gas station on Goliad Road on the city's Southeast Side on Christmas Day.

Police said last week that Edwards got into an altercation with four black men and one black woman in the parking lot. One of the people pulled a handgun and shot Edwards in the head, killing him.

"The common denominator that we have here is that the black female suspect knows the victim and knows the suspects involved in the shooting. So there are a lot of questions we want to get answered. Was this a possible setup or not? We want to know what exactly the relationship was between the black female and the victim and the black female and the suspects," Douglas Greene with SAPD said at the time.

Police believe Edwards’ death was the last murder of 2015. They still do not have a motive for the crime.
