Houston-area man shot to death in robbery attempt at fast food drive-thru
Police said driver is permitted to carry a handgun
LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A man sitting in the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant in League City Saturday shot a would-be robber several times, killing him, police said.
At 2:12 p.m. Saturday, police said a man and his child were in the McDonald's drive-thru at 102 South State Highway 3 when the other man approached his vehicle with a gun.
Police said the driver, who is permitted to carry a handgun, shot the man multiple times.
The wounded man was transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Police say multiple witnesses confirm the attempted robbery, but the investigation is ongoing.
The shooter has fully cooperated with investigators.
