After refusing ride, bullet grazes woman's head

Incident occurred in 200 block of Rice Road

SAN ANTONIO – A woman was taken to the hospital after she was grazed by a bullet early Tuesday, San Antonio police said.

The incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Rice Road, found not far from Brookside Drive and Martin Luther King Drive on the city's East Side.

Police said the woman told them that she was simply walking when a man pulled up and offered her a ride. That's when, police said, after refusing the offer someone inside the car started shooting.

A bullet grazed the woman's head. She was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for her injury.

It is not known if any arrests have been made in the case, and the name of the victim is not presently known.

The investigation is ongoing.
