Crime Stoppers seek driver who hit bicyclist, failed to stop and render aid

Incident occurred July 23 in the 200 block of New Laredo Highway

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down the person responsible for hitting a bicyclist and failing to stop and render aid.

The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. July 23 in the 200 block of New Laredo Highway.

According to police a Blue Kia Rio traveling northeast on New Laredo Highway struck a bicyclist also traveling northeast.

The driver of the Kia initially stopped, but then backed up and fled the scene eastbound on Humboldt Street, police said.

The vehicle is a 2003-2005 four-door sedan model with damage to the front left driver's side.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
