1 injured after driver slams stolen truck into retirement home Police searching for driver, passengers who fled before police arrived No description found
SAN ANTONIO – One person was injured after a driver slammed a stolen truck into a retirement home on the city’s Northwest Side.
It happened at the corner of Babcock and St. Cloud. Crews had to tow the truck out of the brick building.
Police said the driver was also involved in a hit-and-run about a block away on Williamsburg Place.
The truck’s rear license plate was covered with temporary paper license plates.
Police suspect the driver had been speeding when the car crashed into the building.
“Took out that whole corner, almost the whole width of the duplex,” said M. Luevano, with the San Antonio Police Department.
Investigators believe the driver had possibly been involved in a chase before it all came to an end. Police are still searching for the driver. They’re also searching for a couple of passengers who bailed out before police go to the scene.
